Help us rebuild a TXK1!
One of our long-term goals is to try and rebuild a 5005A (TXK1) local exchange Crossbar system. We already have a complete set of circuit diagrams in our archives, and several other Plessey/ATE publications detailing the design of the system, but we'd like your help. If you worked on the TXK1 (or TXK2!) then your knowledge is invaluable. Furthermore, if you know of any disused TXK1 equipment which has never been recovered, please let us know, so we can approach BT about it. We need to know where it is!
Overall architecture diagram
One of the best ways for newcomers to get their heads round the system is a diagram showing how it all fits together. This is an SVG file which you can download, edit and send back to us. Please take a look and point out any mistakes, or fill in the blanks!
SVG files can be edited with Inkscape, a free open source vector graphics program.
