Where your money goes
As a small charity we rely on donations from individuals to keep going, whether that's keeping the eMuseum online or looking after the collection. All donations go directly to our charitable objectives. We have no paid staff and no third-party fundraising companies to pay.
The biggest cost is storage. It costs us £228 a month just to keep the collection safely stored — more than everything else we spend put together. Our other running costs (website hosting, our phone line and email) come to about £16 a month, plus £50 a year to keep the Trust registered as a company.
We are a charitable company, governed by our Articles of Association, and we publish annual accounts.
How to donate
The simplest way to give is by bank transfer, for any amount you choose:

Gift Aid
If you pay UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax, we can claim an extra 25p from HMRC for every £1 you give — so a £10 donation becomes £12.50 — at no extra cost to you.
To claim it, we need a Gift Aid declaration from you. There's no form to fill in and nothing to sign: just email us the details below, before, with or after your donation.
Please include your full name, your home address (with postcode), and the amount and date of your donation, along with this statement:
“I want to Gift Aid this donation to The Communications Museum Trust Ltd, and any donations I make in the future or have made in the past 4 years. I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year, it is my responsibility to pay any difference.”
